An innocent woman finds herself aboard a strange cruise ship and learns she is part of a curious alien greeting. The Greeting was to be the penultimate experiment in the study of human sexual relationships and religious discovery but Charlie instead finds herself engulfed in an orgy of sex and violence aboard the ship. As her adventures unfold Charlie finds herself transformed from someone’s subservient wife into something quite different and alien even to herself!

Henry reunites with an old college flame, a polyamorous soul who reignites his passion for writing. A failed author and with her encouragement he decides to undertake a feminist rewriting of Robert Heinlein’s science fiction classic a “Stranger in A Strange Land”. Henry’s protagonist, Smith’s counterpart, Charlotte is a woman that he hopes to use as a foil to expose the hypocrisy of religion. However; the only hypocrisy that he seems to be exposing is his own and his inherent misogyny. Unfortunately, he also finds himself struggling to suppress the voracious sexual appetites of the one woman he truly loves: his polyamorous muse.

A harmonious erotic liaison filled with good intentions, the Greeting soon goes awry as darker, more sinister forces begin to manipulate humans and aliens alike. All soon learn that the Greeting is much more than a simple experiment. This story is more about Charlie’s slow assimilation into the aliens culture of the Epicoids, she becomes an alien like Smith in Stranger in a Strange Land and the responses she elicits from terrans or humans

Curious Eve: The Sci-Fi Novel

Charlie is an attractive young red head that finds herself on a curious cruise ship with her husband, only he is missing in action feeding his gambling addictions. Unsure why she is on the cruise ship in the first place she goes in search in hopes of unraveling the mysteries aboard what appears to be a normal everyday cruise. In her journeys, she meets Steve an attractive if not somewhat restless young black man who is finding it hard to adjust to life aboard the cruise ship. Charlie meets the Epicoids, strange creatures seemingly in charge of the cruise and her destiny. Her adventures take a strange turn into a somewhat bewildering sexual odyssey. Finally she learns she can never leave the cruise ship.

Writer’s journey: Henry is funny, acerbic, talented and extremely demanding soul on those who closest to him, family and lovers alike. He takes no prisoners himself included. Exasperated by his girlfriends and the gig economy he knows he is also running out of time as he hits his mid-fifties.

To Henry’s consternation the publisher urges him to “L Ron Hubbard this sucker” and start a feminist church fashioned after the heroine in his novel. Rather than pursuing Heinlein’s story he finds himself mired in a church sex scandal and other controversies that make L. Ron Hubbard’s Scientology seem mainstream. with dire consequence for all of those around him.

Over seventy years ago Robert Heinlein and L. Ron Hubbard had a barroom bet as to who could start a bona fide religion. In the process the two man shared a strange bond that including sharing the bed of Robert Heinlein’s polyamorous wife. From that bond came Heinlein’s seminal science fiction classic “Stranger in A Strange Land” and from L.Ron Hubbard the controversial Scientology cult.
